don’t try to be your kids’ friend; be a parent and look out for their best interests. being a good parent is about being strict when necessary while teaching your kids to be decent human beings, and being lenient when it’s well deserved.

1 PATIENCE: You need to have lots of this.
#2 LOVE: With patience comes love… love no matter what. They will test you to the max, do things that drive you crazy (knowingly and un-knowingly). Just when you think you can’t take anymore… look at those beautiful little eyes and take a breath. Just think he/she loves you, needs you, and often does not understand. They just want love.
#3 UNDERSTANDING: You were young once too. And no matter how bad the situation is, tomorrow is another day. No worries.
#4 BE GRATEFUL: I am so honored to be my boys mother. They are the most awesome, beautiful little souls. I couldn’t imagine life without them.
#5 CHERISH EVERY MOMENT: Life is too short, one day they will not have you. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Live in the moment and smile.
#6 SPOIL THEM: Now, before you all go crazy, I am not talking about materiel things. Spoil them with your time, tons of kisses, hugs. The little things matter the most to our munchkins. A day at the playground. Reading a book before bed… Sharing a rrotbeer float. Helping mommy make Brownies… then gobbling them up when the are all warm and gooey. Flying a kite… Playing in leave piles. Camping in a tent in your back yard. Looking at cloud shapes. You know, all of thoise little things… Spoil them away
#7 TRY EVERY DAY TO BE THE BEST MOMMY POSSIBLE. I live by these words, no matter what. Whatever yesterday was or wasn’t… no matter how crazy today might get, we are not promised tomorrow. Be the best you can today. This will one day reflect in their lives and how they deal with life.
