How can I get my parents to eat their vegetables?

I know there are probably some Yahoo! Answers for parents trying to get their children to eat vegetables, but I have the opposite problem. My parents don't eat as many vegetables as they should. Sometimes when I visit I cook for them, and I've tried doing things like stir fries or pot pies where the vegetables are mixed up with everything, but my parents (especially my dad) will still pick out the meat parts and leave the vegetables alone.

I have read/heard over and over again that parenting is so hard. What do you think the hardest part about it is?
And if you're so inclined, what do you think the best part about being a parent is? :)

Choosing college tips for parents of soon-to-be freshman?

It will soon be time to help my son choose a college. I would appreciate any tips from "veteran" parents (or college students past or present) and also on creative financing, grants, etc. I'm starting early to try to be as informed as I can. Thanks!

Advice for a parent with a first child in college?

Posted by ParentHelper | Posted in Parenting | Posted on 21-03-2010-05-2008

My eighteen year old son started college a few weeks ago. He and I were always very close and shared the same quirky sense of humor. My husband and I are now home with our fifteen year old daughter, a high school freshman. I miss him terribly, and he has told me in so many words that I bug him too much. I called him on his cell every few days to see how he was doing. I did promise to back off as my husband also felt I was hovering too much. I just want to know he's ok, and I like touching bases with him. I have however quit calling him. Anyone have any advice on how to deal with the separation? I want to hear from college students in regard to what they appreciated and did not appreciate from their parents. I also want to hear from other parents on how they dealt with the anxiety of not knowing how things are going for their child. He is by the way, a VERY responsible eighteen year old, very bright and has never given us a moments grief.

Survey | How often do you follow your parent’s advice?

My mom asked me over Christmas why I wasn't dating. It's not like I DON'T want to.

She told me I should hand out business cards saying I'm STD free and have had a vasectomy.

I think my mom needs more pain meds.

What is the one greatest piece of advice you could offer as a parent, to new/expecting parents?

I am not expecting... but I am thinking about the kids question, and starting to research different parenting techniques. I figured to have one place where lots of parents weigh in with their greatest advice could be a great resource for new parents. Thanks in advance!

How can I convince my parents to let me get a puppy?

I want to get a pomeranian puppy, but I'm not sure I can convince my parents... I have already prepared a powerpoint and I'm researching, but I'm curious about what else I should do to convince my parents.

Answers from people who have convinced their parents to let them get a pet would be great :D
Thanks!
