Hi Richard,
More than 9 million college students depend on Pell Grants to get enough money to go to school. But the program faces a $1.3 million budget shortfall this year. That means that some hardworking students won't get the aid they need to go back to school.
Tell Congress to help struggling students and prevent cuts to Pell Grants »
College is ridiculously expensive. For lots of low- and middle-income students it's prohibitive. But getting a degree has become more important to being successful, not just in the U.S. but around the globe. But the cuts required to balance the program's budget would mean less support for fewer semesters.
The kids getting Pell Grants have done everything right. They've worked hard in school, gotten into college and want to keep learning and become successful. Putting up financial barriers to college not only hurts these kids, but the entire American economy.
The price of college has never been steeper, but a degree has never been so important. Tell Congress to spare Pell Grants from more cuts and help more American students get higher education »
Thanks for taking action!
