How many children actually respect and obey their parents?

Okay im still a teen and all, but it really bothers me to see kids and teens completely disrespect their parents. Now my question is 1) kids and teens do you respect and obey your parents and why 2) adults and parents what do you think about all this. Are too many parents giving free reign to their children or is that kids just arn't respectful now days?

I've heard a few people say stuff about parents.

How parents aren't paying enough attention to their children, parents aren't spending enough time with their children, parents aren't parenting their children, and how parents are relying on the government and schools to parent their children.

But I've never really noticed it much. Then again, I'm oblivious to people.

My good friend (Class mate too), Lena's parents always fight each other, for any and every reason that only they know. She is 15 like me and does not know how to handle them. Some times it goes way too bad that they shout at each other at public too. Last week they visited our school and started an argument infront of all others. It really *****. Lena is really sensitive and she has been still crying for 5 days. Idont know what to say to her.

Also how to make her parents to understand that they spoil not only their own respect, but also leave Lena and her brother (8 yrs) in embrssment.

If you have such parents, how do you handle them? Please help.

Girls rarely get to direct their own sexual identity or development in our culture. Between the messages they get from the media, friends, parents and boys, it's amazing any of them leave adolescence unscathed. Unfortunately, though, many don't. So what can parents do to protect their girls? How can they help girls navigate their way through these messages, and still somehow stay true to the girls' own desires? How can they still get to date, without getting too sexually involved? Thank you so much on behalf on me and my daughter!

My parents are being unfair. They have set everything to a password. Like Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, etc. They only let me check my e-mail account on weekends. My other friends' parents let them do whatever they want but they're smart. They're not stupid like my parents think we are. I know they're trying to protect us but I'm breaking more rules by sneaking behind their backs and going on the computer. Any articles or anything? I need solid proof.
